Environmental/Health/Safety -

+ Ensure safe work environment in plant

+ LOTO authorized

+ Primary shift responsibility for environmental training, audits and compliance

+ Demonstrate active preventive engagement in EHS through preforming STOP Observations and safety/environmental reporting

+ Identify, eliminate, and / or communicate any unsafe conditions

+ Complying to all PPE requirements

+ Comply with all CertainTeed Siding and EHS Policies

+ Maintain and improve cleanliness of assigned working areas

+ Train and report on training results on all JSA and other EHS related procedures for general plant and packager/attendant specific areas

Quality -

+ Be able to understand and communicate what a good quality part

+ Abide by all ISO 9001 and 14001 procedures

+ Insures training records are up to date

+ Ensure that product packaging specification are followed

+ Perform detailed visual quality checks

+ Perform color checks as needed

+ Train and report on training results on all quality related procedures for general plant and packager/attendant specific areas

+ Is trained and can perform as back up QC

Production -

+ Being able to detect burns or color streaks, short shots and flash and communicates this to proper people.

+ Watch and notify appropriate personnel of any defects in parts also watches UPC, labels and boxes.

+ Grind bad parts in appropriate grinder, unless not meeting criteria for regrinding.

+ Knows and can recognize common materials.

+ Operating molding machines in semi-automatic to insure parts are not closed in the mold.

+ Can restart floor machines and answer alarms.

+ Grinds runners and parts as required in properly labeled grinder.

+ Can clean grinders and is LOTO certified

+ Inspects, degates, trims, sorts, counts, weights, and packages parts. Can calibrate scales.

+ Be trained on appropriate work instructions to operate secondary equipment

+ Can read work instructions for proper boxes, labels, and pallet count.

+ Learn proper boxing techniques to insure parts are boxed properly.

+ Insure that good parts are not placed in regrind.

+ Material in hoppers to insure that the hoppers do not run dry.

+ Inspection numbers or initials will be written or stamped on all boxes.

+ Perform color changes on all machines

+ Perform printer head cleaning and restart printers

+ Utilize and train others on production monitoring system (Digital Dashboard)

+ Train and report on training results on all production related procedures for general plant and packager/attendant specific areas

+ Act as primary trainer on the shift for temporary workers and new hires for production packing.

Teamwork -

+ Be an active team member of one or more chartered teams, including the plant training team

+ Lead / co-lead WCM teams

+ High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

+ 2 to 5 years production experience
